FAQs

  • Our labor rates are $145.00 for the 1st hour or fraction thereof. This is to cover the mobilization costs that each job entails, regardless of length. Each additional hour is $99.00, billed in 15 minute increments.

    We do charge by the quarter hour after the 1st initial hour.

    Since we charge a 1 hour minimum of labor for any service we provide, we recommend having a backup task or two in mind should we finish your initial task within less time.

    We also offer two combo deals:

    1) “Husband for the Day” rate of $595.00 which allows you to schedule 1 handyman for an 8 hour day. Should your project need more time that day we charge a rate of $75.00 per hour over the 8 hours up to 2 additional hours. The max work day for our technicians is 10 hours in 1 day. Coupons and promotions do not apply to this rate.

    2) “2 Husbands for 1/2Day” rate of $595 which allows you to schedule 2 handymen for a 5 hour day (10 total man hours). Should your project need more time that day we charge a rate of $140.00 per hour over the 5 hours up to 2 additional hours. The max work day for our technicians is 10 hours in 1 day. Coupons and promotions do not apply to this rate.

    Due to the fact that at our regular rates 5 hours of labor for 1 handyman is $541 we will charge the $595.00 “Husband for the Day” rate per handyman for any projects where the labor is between 5.5 - 8 hours as it is the lesser rate. So, if your project is estimated to take 5.5 -6 hours it is best to add a few more tasks to the list in order to get the most cost-effective use of time!

    There are certain projects that require special pricing outside of our hourly rates. Our office will provide that pricing during the estimating process when applicable.

    Should 2 or more handymen be needed for a project the labor rate is an additional $99.00 per hour per handyman. If 2 or more handymen are needed for a “Husband for the Day” appointment it is an additional $595.00 per additional handyman per 8 hour block and an additional $75 per hour per handyman should they go over the initial 8 hours.

    All materials and dumpster fees are additional to the above listed labor rates.

    Additionally, any trips our handymen need to make to the hardware store for materials and fixtures are counted as billable labor time.

    Please do keep in mind that the estimates we provide from our office are ballpark estimates based on historical data and more than 20 years combined experience in the field. We estimate as close as we can based on the information provided; however, the actual cost of a project may increase or decrease depending on what we find once onsite or based on how the job progresses.

  • Visit our Book Your Job page and login to your customer portal or create an account.

    From there you can upload photos of your project (jpeg only) and describe your service request. A member from our office will reach out to you within 24 - 48 hours to provide an estimate and schedule your appointment. We will coordinate the schedule over email, and if necessary, text message or phone calls.

    Some job requests may require an onsite estimate, which will be incorporated into the final invoice charge.

  • We ask our clients to provide any special types of fixtures they would like installed such as lights, faucets, toilets, shelving, etc. The same goes for any projects with specific items such as custom doors, tiles etc.

    Additionally, because of the fact that what may be considered “off white” to one person is just “too many shades of ivory” for another, we ask that for any projects requiring paint, grout, or any color specific item that our clients provide those items to ensure we use the color you desire.

    All materials and dumpster fees are additional to the above listed labor rates. Please be advised that dumpster fees vary greatly, depending on the materials involved and their weight. A 20% markup will apply to cover shipping and handling for items we order on your behalf.

  • Please note that payment is due at the time of service and we accept all major credit cards and checks. The guys are able to securely take payments from their phones and we do not under any circumstances store our customers’ financial information. Balances not paid at the time of service will incur a 1.5% service charge, with an additional 6% per annum interest accruing on unpaid balances after 30 days.

    We accept cash, check, all major credit and debit cards, and ACH transfers.

    For credit card transactions our handymen come equipped with a phone or tablet that has a credit card reader built into our software system to process your credit card information securely.

  • To cancel or reschedule please email our office at info@hourlyhusbands.com and we will do our best to reschedule your appointment to a time and date that is more convenient for you!

    We do not charge a cancelation fee but would appreciate a 24-hours notice to adjust our schedule properly.

  • Our crew stands by the quality of the work that we do. If there is an issue with the job site, please let us know immediately by sending us an email at info@hourlyhusbands.com and attaching photos. We will assess the job and make a decision ASAP.

    It’s important to note that we will not apply warranty fixes to jobs that a previous contractor performed. If our crew discovers a problem with a job site that was created by a previous contractor, this will be communicated to the client. If the client decides to proceed with the job, we cannot be liable to apply a warranty fix. We appreciate your understanding.
